On Second Thought
From time to time I will weigh in on subjects that I have very strong feelings on, this is one. The CEO of Merrill lost 15 BILLION dollars and cut 30,000 jobs and for this he wants a 10 MILLION dollar bonus. This is on top of the 10 MILLION dollar sign-on bonus he got last Fall. He is also the single highest paid CEO in the United States! I shutter to think what he would be asking for IF he had made a profit or actually created jobs.
As disturbing, if not more so, is the fact that ONLY when the outcry hit the Boardroom did Thain (CEO) see that his request might be signs he is tone deaf. This excuse of a CEO is reason enough to never do business with Merrill and to seriously consider business relations with Bank of America.
Yesterday I wrote Investor Relations at Bank of America and asked their position. I intend to terminate my business relationships with them if the response is just so much more of the same. This action will have NO effect on Bank of America but will have a huge effect on me. It's my money, I worked hard for it and I will spend it with those that are decent folks. Thain is NOT a decent human being! I also suggested a new name - Bank of (some) Americans. Feel free to leave your comments, I would be interested in how RVers see this.
